| Inspirations are developed out of a formal
interest in materiality and colour, but there are also
underlying aspects about the choice of material that suggest
a playful questioning of the urban and the natural, the
synthetic and organic. The sculptures originate without
a deliberate plan: gaining shape during the creative process.
The materials chosen often used allows for a quick and
direct way of working to imbue a rough- and -ready character
to the work enabling the sculptures to project unpredictability
and instill a sense of experimentation. This is also evident
with her paintings by using unconventional mediums of
industrial paints and bitumen allows the work to evoke
the unpredictable and changeability as seen in decay and
corrosion. |
